Well, I am old. I only know Taylor Swift by what I hear on TMZ, and that Diddy once made her cry. Michael J. Fox wants her to stay away from his son. She apparently dates a lot of men (boys) then is dumped, then writes about the break-up. I wouldn't say that's anything new in the music biz. Perhaps it's because she looks so sweet that people have an issue with her revolving door dating, then finding solace in writing a song about the nasty boy(s). I cannot say I have ever listened to her sing. Have no idea what the lyrics are, but can they be any worse than Dylan's turning of the guitar screws against his former wife, or Joan, or ....
I'm sure every singer uses their own experiences whilst writing a song. But do some go even further and have relationships just to be dumped and make money off of human emotions? I'm sure they do.
As for Swift. She's young. She's immature. She's rich. So, it works for her.
