One of my favorite sites is, History.com. Today was not a good day for people named, Gandhi, or people named, Finklestein.
Gandhi was assassinated on this day. I'm all for peace, but I'm not sure I follow Gandhi's belief that we must be pacifists at all costs. Imagine that. If we ignored Hitler, who became Chancellor in 1933, on this day, what the consequences would be. Pretty terrifying to think about.
Been a long time since I cried, and don't laugh because it was a hobbit who made me do it. I was watching one of the Tolkein trilogies the other day, the one with the mother of all wars. Sam-wise, told Mr. Frodo, we have to fight sometimes, for good to survive. It's sad, but true.
Andrew Jackson almost went off the grid on this day, and King Charles I believe lost his head, or whatever they did to French Kings in 1649.
