Frankie's Lesson

Frankie loved an Irish girl, but he only made her puke and hurl,
he threw pennies in the wishing well, and wished for words to break this spell.
He ached inside for the girl of his dreams, but all he heard were fading screams,
so, his face was the shade of electric green, no reason for the masses to be mean.
so his bolts sparked a bit and zipped a zap, it was he who was shocked by every slap.
Oh, what could this gentle giant do, he cried until his hue turned blue.
If they'd only take a look inside, look beneath, beyond this monstrous hide,
I'm just a guy who needs a gal, I'll be your friend, your bestest pal.

The years crawled by, he was alone, no one to call on his 4G phone.
He sat before the Starry Night and wished for wings to give him flight,
away away I don't belong, a lonely man without a song.
He bowed his square head and began to pray, and deep within, a voice did say,
"Such beauty there beneath the pain, in every star and every grain."
And finally Frankie felt at peace, the doubts and fears, they all did cease-
no longer will I try to conform, when I am unique, I'm not the norm,
but that's okay, I belong here, too, even in my custom made, size sixty, shoe.
